Eve watches the Creation of Adam, Oil, 22x24 Reproduction of "Eve" from the Sistine Chapel
Oil on Canvas Panel
22" x 28"
Collection of the artist.
The original is a detail from the Sistine Chapel of the Vatican, painted by Michelangelo approx. 1510.

This female is huddled under God's arm while with his other hand he is famously giving life to Adam. I liked the idea that this might be Eve, in an adolescent state before she is fully created (after all, she did come after Adam). The expression on her face is one of apprehension, both fear and interest, while she watches Adam come to life. In my painting I changed her hair color from blonde to brown.
